Default ..:: The Suspension/Steering Situation ::..

Hello Roverers,

I'm in need to replace Ball Joints & Universal Joints on my 2002 Disco SII SE, for these I'm going with the MOOG brand, any feedback on your experience with these will be greatly appreciated.

I'm also looking to replace Drag Link and Tie Rod, and I'm going for the MEVOTECH brand sold by RockAuto; again, any feedback on your experience with this brand will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all. ;-]#

How was your experience with the moogs? I just did mine and the moogs are so stiff it torqued at all and have terrible memory steer. I'm currently needing to find a different brand or solution to at least get my driver's side free'd up to make it safe again. I saw mevotech sells them but don't know anything about that brand.

Do a search here on the forum. Someone recently had Moog ball joints on their Disco 2 that had broke on him.

I've not used anything from Mevotech on my Rover yet but I rebuilt the front steering of my daughters Mazda 3 and used everything Mevotech from Rock Auto to do so. I can say that the parts are well made and are seriously heavy duty when compared to the factory parts I was replacing. For the way she drives (19 yo typical female driver) she should be in a truck but I can say I felt better about installing the Mevotech parts cause they will be harder for her to tear up.

I wouldn't hesitate to use their stuff on my Rover. From what I've seen it's well made.

...sorry for the late response, but since my suspension was almost dead, anything new I threw at it would make it a ton better, which actually did. I opted for MOOGS just for brand awareness, the MEVOTECH brand did not sink well in me, so went with MOOGS. Issues were solved, but I'm now looking into repairing/changing steering box, since I'm having issues with a heavy play it has.

Hope this response helps.
