Swapping out drivers seat bottom
I found a seat bottom in excellent condition to replace my worn out ripped drivers side. Has anyone attempted this without taking the entire seat out? If so any tips would be much appreciated.
Honestly, taking the seats out isn’t too hard. It’s 4 bolts (one has a but) and the electrical connectors. About the only part that is a challenge is the seats are relatively heavy and pretty cumbersome to get out, but in my opinion that would be easier than trying to snake your way in and replace the cushion with the seat installed.
I think the Rave has the procedures for disassembling the seat, but no matter what, I’d say it would be worlds easier with the seat out.

I have done it both ways and it is about the same difficulty either way. To do it with the seat in I start by reclining the seat fully to reduce tension on the seat back leather and then roll the rear retainer off/out. Giving yours is no good to start with you can cut the other three loose. Putting the new one in with it in the truck start with the retainer on the console side then do the opposite side and then the front and finish with the back. It helps if you raise the seat all the way up and it's travel so you can get to the retainers.
