Default Swivel oil

I had my swivel oil replaced with grease. I might be a bit paranoid but I thick they didnt put enough grease in the swivel housing.
The ball feels dry. Since its not leaking before the replacement can I just add Royal Purple gear oil in the swivel housing?

20 pumps per side with your manual grease gun every 6 months is all you need.
You can add a few ouces of gear lube if you want, but for the last 30,000 miles that is all I do, grease every 6 months.

Thanks Spike fro the quick reply, which bring me to my next question.
I will have the truck serviced for lubrication.
I am assuming that they havent serviced a Disco before.
Where are the spots that need to be lubricated?
Also any type of grease will do right?
Thanks

The only spots that need attention are the u-joints, nothing else needs anything other than being checked, like the front and rear diffs and the t-case fluid levels checked.
Grease the u-joints at every oil change.

Thanks alot for that link..
I would have done it all wrong..
I worked on a Wheat farm and had to grease the implements and tractor every day..
The guy who oned the farm was very insistant that I only put 2 pumps every fitting every day, or I would blow the seals..

I would have just put in enough to push out a little of the black stuff, and not all of it if I hadnt seen this link..
Thanks again..
This forum is a great resource,

Only trick is.. Read every Thread!!

Yes it is the big shiny ball looking thingy on the inboard side on the front wheels.
There is a square nut on the top front of it, 1/2"? open end wrench to remove it.
Some have a drain plug at the bottom, dont worry about this if you have one.
The swivel ***** were supposed to be filled with gear lube, but it leaked, so they went with a gear lube/grease mixture, then all grease.
Use the same grease that you use on everything else in your swivel *****.

Rover has long since changed their recommondation on swivel oil suggesting you use their new grease swivel grease, 1 packet per side for better wear protection and little or no leaking.
