Default Symptoms

I just got the D2 started, but it was acting as if it had no gas. Turning over fine. It seems like Crank Position Sensor issue.

in addition, I had a random stall a couple weeks back, started right up after, has acted normally since.

I had a leaking elbow pipe after geadgaskets and was getting some misfires around that time, since replacement, no codes.

what I am wondering is if it is possible that the hot coolant from the leaking elbow pipe has fouled the camshaft position sensor.

Has anyone had a camshaft position sensor go bad?

I've had 9, never had a bad cam sensor nor never heard of one. did you check fuel pressure? MAF sensor (you can disconnect temporarily)?

I will. I am redoing my LH Head gasket so I am going to get a real good look at the injectors and fuel line.

I'm not a huge fan of guessing at sensors, etc.

What I like to do is spray in a bunch of Starter Fluid.

If the motor starts and runs until the starter fluid runs out, then you have a fuel issue.

If the motor won't start with starter fluid then you have an ignition or timing issue.

Really narrows down the problem!

Thanks No doubt! Good advice. If the issue continues I will check this. Going to inspect my crankshaft sensor while my manifold is out, but not swap it out unless something is obviously wrong.
