Default T-case leak down the middle?

so i have a tcase leak down the middle and i have a slight idea where it could be from but i dont see how.

I have done the d1 cdl swap.

the pictures taken are from under the driver side of the truck looking towards the passenger.

is there a gasket here that could leak?

could it be coming from up there some where?

Time to reseal the plate. It will leak from the sides and cover the entire plate. If you are truly leaking from the middle then you have a cracked plate.

Spray you a bunch of degreaser or oven cleaner on it. Drive it to the car wash and power wash it off. Then you will be able to see better.

That plate can be a PITA to seal. If I remember it calls for only RTV to make the Gasket and I have never had great luck using only RTV to seal things. RTV along with a gasket has worked great for me but I can't master using just RTV. (I'm sure 5 people are going to chime in and tell me they have sealed it just fine with RTV)

Next time I get around to messing with it I'm just going to buy this entire seal kit because it has a gasket for that plate along with everything else to do a complete reseal of the T-Case. You can go what ever route you want, I'm just giving you another option.

so it would be the plate that is leaking and nothing above it? i thought the leak dripped down from the top of the case, or that was my thought.

buying more degreaser and going to town on the tcase in a few.

It could be leaking down from this upper cover. I have a very small leak coming from there also. I believe it too is also only sealed with RTV. That kit above also has a good gasket for that too.

When tracking a leak, I use diesel fuel on a rag to wipe parts clean . Once it's clean it's easy to find the leak. The paper gaskets works well, but RTV works too if all the mating surfaces are REALLY clean. for that, I use brake cleaner.
