Tcase stuck in high
When i bought the d2 i couldn't get the truck to go into low range, even while moving forward or backward at about 5 mph and in neutral.
I removed the stock shifter linkage and added a 1996 cdl version and while i was in there i removed the tcase lock out solenoid put some rtv and forgot about it.
well now i still cant get into low range, even while the truck is moving. is it possible that low range is frozen and will i need to take it apart to fix this?

More likely the cable than the T-Case. But how you would replace the CLD without making sure everything was moving properly is a little hard to grasp...
If it is working you should be able to get it to go into low even without it moving, just has a tendency to mesh a little more smoothly when it's rolling.

You are not the first person to have trouble shifting into low. These trucks sometimes go there whole lives without being shifted into low by there soccer mom owners and the T-Cases are almost impossible to move after so long in 1 position. The owners manual says not to force the shifter into the low position so I don't want to tell you to yank on it, but that is probably exactly what you will have to do. Honestly, I would just buy a used T-Case for around $150 and be done with it.
He said he installed a D1 shifter and there is no cable on a D1 shifter.

i am about 90% sure i fixed my three amigos tonight by smacking the wheel sensor into place- apparently i could go down some more and i also bled all the brakes after swapping out the rear ss lines with the delphi system. ill do the front tomorrow and power bleed again.
btw using the abs pump to power bleed the system is AMAZING!
i think buying another tcase and having it refurb'd sounds like what will end up doing it unless anyone else has any other ideas.
Ill post pics of cdl in the morning- maybe the gear selector is on wrong? i think i reassembled it correctly- i think.
