Good = no mold or soggy carpet.
Bad = noise, ugly.

I had a buddy strip his out and line with Lizard Skin, it was still bad... he ended up putting the carpet back in

Yeah, i was curios about the noise because I have rubber mats front/rear and back which covers most of the carpet area.

My carpet has been out for a few months now. I have a leaky windshield, but really haven't had the time to track down the leak. Also need to fix the surface rust caused by the carpet holding so much water.

It is louder without the carpet, but honestly it's not that bad. I may have just gotten used to it. I do plan to put it back in once my leak/rust is fixed.

On a D1, the tranny tunnel will get really hot in the summertime.

I have seen trucks in which all the interior and carpet was removed and then rhino-lined- it looks great after that.

D2 is the same. I really notice it when wearing shorts.

I'll tell you from experience you could cook a ham on that tranny tunnel in the summer. It gets HOT. Otherwise yes it's noisier, but being able to rinse the floor out with a hose is handy.

Not exactly on topic, but I have been thinking about pulling my carpet up and adding some Dynamat and then putting the carpet back to quiet things down even more. (Probably do the door panels and rear hatch also).

If I was going to leave the carpet out I would go with a double layer Rhinoliner for sure.
