Default Temp Issues - MotoRad 180

Ever since I opened up the heater core lines the other day I can't seem to get my temps back to normal I've bled and bled and bled...

I'm hitting 201-202 at idle. Before opening the system I would see 194-197 at idle and 190.4 - 194.0 while cruising. Sometimes, I would see 188.6 on the freeway. Now, I can't get below 194.0 while crusing around town. As soon as I come to a stop temps go up to 199 201. I can't get it right.

I decided to pull the Motorad 180 stat to look for a blockage. Look what I found.

I pulled the dislodged rubber gasket out of the housing and discarded it. Is it crucial that it stay in there? Should I be worried enough to pickup another stat?

Anywho, I'm still bleeding the system temps keep creeping back up to 201 at idle The dislodged rubber gasket wasn't the problem.

Even better, get $$ back and buy a real Rover one, about $60, and worth it. Runs cooler than a lot of motorads people have posted about. 183F at 60mph is not gonna happen with defectiove thermostats.

I did a full flush afterwards. Fortunately, I didn't find any other goodies floating around in the system. It's always something w/ this thing.
