Default Terra Firma Light Mounting Bar

I've just purchased a Terra Firma light mounting bar from Lucky8:

( Land Rover Discovery Roof Light Bar Mount Fits Discovery 1989-2004 Brand New LED | eBay )

and it comes with no instructions, neither are there instructions on the Terra Firma site:

( GLB002 - Roof Light Bars )

Does anyone have suggestions? I'm sure I can figure it out with a little time, but I'm more looking to see if anyone else has tackled this project before and has any tips or suggestions for the install.

Thanks!

I installed mine this past summer ordered from the same place with no instructions or help from Lucky8. If you drill thru the rain gutter insert a nut thru the light bar where that + looking symbol is and then I used an allen head bolt tighten it down. Just make sure you get it lined up or its really tough to get the bar aligned. I don't have pics with me but I can send you some if you need.

The gutters on my D2 have cracks running down both sides... any thoughts on how to shore this up? I was thinking grinding them open then bondo or JB weld...

You would be better off replacing the drip rails. You don't mention how long the cracks are but just as you make some type of repair in one spot, it will crack again somewhere else. there's no reliability and what then if it breaks on an attachment point and completely comes off the truck. I wouldn't trust the old piece to hold a light bar with any kind of integrity.

Not 100% sure but it seemed like the plastic trim around the rail was cosmetic and the actual rail was metal w a silicone material that was painted. How bad is ur plastic drip rail. Ur gonna love it when it's hooked up! What lights are u putting on it ?

The light bar connects via the plastic (cosmetic) part of the drip rail, does it not? Can you post a few pics of your light bar and the installation points? Did you add the hood blackout for overhead light-reflective putposes?

I did not add the hood black out but probably should at some point. Lights up the cab pretty week.
Hopefully the pics work if not I can email you them.

this style is light years ahead of the other design that had to be tapped and bolted through the roof.
