Default Terrafirma 2" med vs. HD lift

I'm hoping to get some bigger tires and lift with my tax return and am trying to decide between the Terrafirma 2" medium or HD lift. I'm planning on running 265/75/16 tires and at some point getting sliders, front bumper, winch with syn. line, roof rack and RTT. The RTT won't be on the D2 all the time but everything else will be. I'd like to keep the ride on the softer side but I don't want to have tire rubbing issues. I plan on adding extra spring pads in the front and D1 rear spring perches for about 1/2" of extra lift.

Do a 3" lift. You will not regret it.

Go HD. I have the Terrafirma 2" Medium with no bumpers or rack etc, when I load the rig down with gear for a four day desert adventure, the rear sags. I need to get HD rear springs. Their is a ton of lift info if you use the search feature. It's been beat to death.

I'm breaking down and getting the rte 3" and gonna swap the shock mounts in the front out and try the blistein 7100's or something comparable. I did see ome released a remote resivoir shock. Interested to see how it will perform. I plan for the added weight but I do like the fact that if it's a bit to firm, you can change the mounting on the rte towers to fine tune the suspension per say

My TF 3" HD kit rides just like stock. I have zero extra weight too, no rack or steel bumpers.

I have the 4.5" RTE and my truck makes me feel like Ace Ventura riding in the Defender in "When Nature Calls" lol

I consider that a good thing

If you plan on carrying weight stay away from Terrafirma. I currently have a Terrafirma 2" HD lift, and I've never been really happy with it. I've blown out two front shocks, and can't get them warrantied (both under 12 months). The rear springs do OK, but start to sag after time.

I'm in the process a getting a new lift to better handle the extra weight. I'll be going with 2" RTE springs, and most likely OME HD shocks all around. I'm running 265/65 tires, and they fill the wheel wells nicely. I would imagine you'll want a 3" for the 265/75 tires.

I carry heavy equipment all the time. I have OME shocks and springs and have 265/75-18LT Duratrac (80K + miles) and no rubbing at all. Im not sure wether its 2" or 1.5" with my setup but I have SD Roofrack loaded with equipment as well. I think it served me well all the time.
BTW, Mstudt, I also got a similar deck like yours that folds up to hold my equipment.

Thanks for the replies. After looking around online for a while I think I'm going to go against the grain and put together something out of the normal range and see what happens. Only going to cost me about $315 for the pieces I need thanks to my old work connections. I'm getting 2 shocks today to test with this weekend and if that goes well I'll order 2 more shocks and some springs when I get my tax return. I'll have gained height numbers and a ride report sometime in March once everything is installed if this weekends test goes well.
