Default Terrafirma D2 front bumper, trimming required?

Like many of you, I've been searching for what front bumper to get for my 2001 D2.

I thought I was going to settle on the Terrafirma TF009A, but I wanted to confirm that you don't need to trim anything on the D2 to fit. It took me a long time to find an uncracked grill and headlight finishers (in white), I'd hate to have to cut those up to mount a bumper.

For those of you with the Terrafirma on a 99-02 D2, did you have to cut the grill or finishers to get it to fit?

Thanks,

Sean.

Also, what's the deal with steel bumpers restricting air flow? Is that only if you put lights in front of the grill?

Airflow is lights and winch, basically too much stuff in front of the grill

Check out this thread detailing my experiences mounting a Terrafirma front bumper on my '99 DII five years ago.

Well that sounds like a nightmare. I'm going to pass on the Terrafirma bumper for now, just to avoid the trimming.

I believe Atlantic British had an install video on their website. If I remember right it did show trimming of some metal. Might be worth a look

I used an 03-04 grill on my 02 it is shorter so it gave me the most clearance for my Warn M8 Winch, and I just had to modify the headlight finishers. The TF front bumper is very nice once it's on, but it does require some tinkering. I've had mine for 4-5 years now as well and I have zero problems with it. A lot of the bumpers besides say ARB will require the 99-02 grill to be cut. I simply solved that issue with the much stronger 03-04 grill.
