Terrafirma Front Bumper on Stock Suspension Question
I'm looking at getting TF009 sometime soon since my current stock bumper is cracked on my 04.
It has the stock springs on it which are actually still in good shape and I'm running 265/60r18's (30.5). I won't be getting a winch anytime soon either so no need to figure that weight in.
But anyways, does anyone know if I can run that bumper on stock height with slightly oversized tires?
Also, does anyone know what the bumper weighs alone?

Thanks acamato. I may throw some weight on the front end and see if it drops me any.
Zach- I'm not planning on using the stock springs for long, but I'm in need of a bumper a bit more than a lift right now. Lately as far as driving the rover all I have time for is driving it to and from campus(2 mi round trip). So if my stock setup can handle normal road conditions with it then I'll be ok for a while.
A lift is in the plans for the future though! I really like my OME on my 99, but I think I will probably go terrafirma med duty on the 04, since it sees more highway use. Wish someone sold the MD kit as a coil conversion package like they do the HD. It's crazy to me that you can get the HD cheaper that way then you can the MD.

Measure from the center of the front hub to the wheel well lip. Stock height is 19.7" +/- 0.6". This will tell you how much sag you have.
You can open the hood and put some weight in the area between the headlights ( to simulate the additional load form the bumper) to see if how much additional sag you get.
I currently have TF med spring in the front with a stock bumper and the front sits lower than the rear (SLS spacers). I think I definitely need HD springs when I get a steel bumper. I need to research pros/cons of HD springs vs MD springs with spacers.
My measurements (day springs were installed)
Front - 21.25
Rear - 22
I need to take some updated front measurements since the springs have settled since I installed them.

Yea I've been meaning to measure my current ride height, but had forgotten stock height.
I've got a couple 55 lb. dumbells I'm gonna try and rest on the front this weekend and check the sag. 110 lbs should be enough to cover the bumpers weight with a little to spare.
I ran my arb on my 99 for almost a year before getting the lift. I also ran stock tires that allowed room for sag, and boy did it drop my front end after a year. I'm assuming/hoping with my 04 springs being younger and the terrafirma bumper being lighter than the arb that I'll be ok for a year or so. I'd like to get a lift at the same time, but it's hard enough maintaining TWO rovers in college and it doesn't leave just a ton of fun money.
