Its all about the tires.....get some good AT's or snow tires and you can still do that with the 18 inch rim.

Tires and learning how your vehicle handles. While I can't stand my Uniroyal A/T's because of the road noise, I really liked them today when I was driving around in the ice and snow. I was wondering how it would handle since I don't have the CDL but I can say I'm impressed with it. The ABS & TC worked great!!!

We got a mere 2.5" here in Missouri last night. I was awakened the morning by vehicles spinning their tires going up the street in front of the house. I have General Grabber UHPs (summer street tire) on mine. I drove around our hilly neighborhood, and had no problems. The ABS engaged once as I was slowing to turn into our drive, and the TC engaged one time for a second or two as I intentionally over-accelerated going up a hill just to see if I could break the tires loose. All of this was done with CDL dis-engaged. I was almost disappointed that it performed so well
