Default Thanks for the help and "Tata"!

Thanks for all the help over the past 3 years in keeping my Disco going. Unfortunately, we parted ways today. The dealer was more than generous with credit towards a new Volvo. Since I couldn't, in good conscious, outright sell it to anyone this was the best option.

I really wanted to like my truck and Land Rover in general, but it was just too darned troublesome and I didn't like having an $8,000 engine swap hanging over my head the next time the oil pump failed. So I only put 14k on the clock since we bought it. As it was, I reckon I'm out close to $1.50/mile between initial purchase, gas, and repairs even subtracting the trade in value. If it hadn't been for you guys helping me with head gaskets and other essential repairs I'd be out almost $2/per.

Anyway, I left the Rave CD in the glovebox along with a note tucked inside the case. On it I listed the repairs that I made in the hopes that it finds a home with someone with deeper pockets and more patience than I. If they have any questions, I also wrote down my email address as a well as link to this board where I know they'll be in good hands.

Again, thanks for all the help.

Cheers!

We traded it towards a fully equipped S60 T6 at a Volvo/Merc/LR dealership. The price, coincidentally, was a tick or two shy of an LR4 HSE. Had our Disco been a more positive experience, we'd have had no problems going to the other side of the lot to test drive one.
