The engine. My 98 Jaguar has a 300 HP efficient, reliable, and amazingly smooth V8, WTF Land Rover? You and Jaguar have had a nice partnership, why is it not in the P38 and Disco II?

You realize that this truck is built specifically for off-road? If you need a grocery getter, buy a 2wd suburban.
Many like the S trim b/c it has less bells/whistles to break when wheeling. If you prefer options, that is great (I have an SE as well and enjoy the sunroof) but to say you can't stand it is pretty harsh..are you just in it to say "I drive a Land Rover"?

I wouldn't say that. CDL was dropped for a reason. Though enough people did use them off-road to complain and get it added back.

When I first bought my DII, one of the horn button plastic caps was broken. I called the Rover dealer to ask about ordering one. They only offered the whole horn assembly, both buttons, both switches, and the wiring . . . for $172. I eventually found a guy who was duplicating just the button caps.

Fair enough, I cannot argue that logic. I guess the D1 was the last that was truly built for offroad (given its based off the D90)

I did, I was responding to Taylor's comment that he referred to the D1 being the last true offroader. I firmly believe an 04 DII will outperform a D1, an LR3 will out perform a DII, and an LR4 will outperform an LR3.
