Thinkin about getting a Discovery...
I'd be new Land Rovers and i was wondering if there is anything i should be cautious of. I've always wanted one and may have found one that im going to look at soon. Its a mid-late 90's.
Just want to know how they are mechanically. With these years is there anything i should be weary of. I'm getting it a vehicle i'd drive daily so i dont want to run into any problems down the road. Hows the gas mileage?
Thanks for the help in advance.

RE: Thinkin about getting a Discovery...
Gas mileage like a Tank in town 11 to 13 mpg Hwy 14 to 17 mpg.
My window sticker Mpg was 14 city 16 hwy. (91 to 93 octane a must)
Mechanically not much better or worse than any other 4X4, the problem is most
Land Rovers for sale have not been taken care of it cost more than normal so they
sell them when something goes wrong or have not kept up with all the maintenance.
I think the Disco I's are easier to work on for most things.
I like OBD II thats 1996 and newer it helps for codes .
Have it checked out by someone that knows Land Rovers there are good ones out there.
All Land Rovers have anti rust units built in, oil leaks they all leak.
The transfer cases whine a little.
If you are going to off road look for one that has a locking transfer case.
See if you can get the service records.
Its a buyers market now.
The last thing is when you get one and you will get one you must say Laaaand Rover .
