I suggest reading the owners handbook. Not knowing how it works could get you rolled over by your Disco.
What he said.
I dont know about the DII, but the DI comes with a wheel chock, it is with the trucks jack under the hood.
If the t-case is in neutral, and even with the trans in park, the truck WILL roll away unless the parking brake is set and at least one prop shaft is connected.

I totally must have missed that part. I still trying to understand it and how it works. So say you are going down the road and pull the brake, would it function like a normal parking brake?

The parking brake is on the rear output shaft of the t-case, setting the parking brake locks the t-case.
If the t-case cant move then the truck cant move.
It is a drum brake with 2 shoes, pull up on the handle and the shoes move out and contact the drum.
If you are driving and pull up on the handle the brake will slow you down.
On normal cars the parking brake locks the rear brakes and leaves the front wheels alone.
The parking brake on a LR is just like that on so many heavy duty trucks and military vehicles.
It locks the driveshaft(s).

Great info, thanks! I'm curious about this because the parking brake does not seem to be too great. I'll have to dig into the RAVE about adjustments. I'm used to manual transmissions, so setting the parking brake is habit. Plus, when on big hills with autos, I don't like to have everything loaded up on the trans as it is hard to shift out of park at times then (have not had that on this vehicle yet, but others).
