Never heard back from him so I have to assume the early frame worked with the later shell.
Some of the changes affecting bump steer happened in 02. I know they changed the camber of the front axle in the middle of the 2002MY to help. I'm not sure if the panhard bar lengths changed at the same time or not.

Like I mentioned, you could definitely use an 02 frame for an 03 or vice versa.

Paul have you delt with any early D2 models from New England? I know you said the later models suffered. Makes me wonder if different materials were used between the older and newer frames. The main reason Im inquiring about early D2 frames is because it seems as though ACE is less common on 03/04 models. I've been looking at for sale D2's for a couple years now and as rare as ACE seems to be, I found more early models with the system on board.

Zack: There are a handful if not more of members on here who still use the ACE, and most of them seem to verify its capabilities. For the people who have them removed, its simple that some people prefer less gadgets. Not everyone wants sunroofs, heated leather, cd changer, power everything, alarms etc. Just more things to maintain. Also I think some people get overwhelmed when ace system starts tweaking and instead of fixing it, they listen to you guys who convince them that its junk and to remove it. My reasons are my own, though I've explained it before why I want ace. Love my current truck to much to sell it and start over. I like this specifics trucks history report and service records and its hard as hell to find a used vehicle that's been as well documented and serviced on time.

How much did you just spend to install those arb lockers on your older D2? Why invest money like that on a old boxy gas hog? Why? Because its one of your hobbies, your pastime, your pleasure. That's why I want a new frame and ace in my Disco. We are not all that different.

I put ashcroft air lockers in to make it more reliable and capable, not to make it a better daily driver!

Reliable + Land Rover just dont mix with our generation of Rovers so you crazy to think such. You can spend $$$$$ on it and things will still break down and require servicing, least not forget the lovely Rover V8 and amigos. But again I understand why you would spend that kind of money on your Rover, instead of scrapping it and say buying a more reliable Toyota or Jeep. The reason? Your an enthusiast like me and many other members here.

And I want ACE because it enhances off-road capability as well as on road safety. But again Im not afraid of spending some extra money, time and effort to keep it maintained and in tip top condition.
