Just finished replacing valley pan and IM gaskets. Changed the plugs, wires, thermostat and updated top hose with bleed screw. Just turned the key and the beast fired up and sounds great.

Problem is that after bleeding the coolant system, I only get cold air in the cabin. All is quite behind the glove box and the temp gauge reads normal.

Any ideas?

 

Did you raise up the expansion tank onto the battery compartment while you were filling?

 

Nope.

 

You still have air in the system. Wait till the engine is cold, then bleed it, do it a couple of times if need be.

 

So this time unclip the expansion tank and raise it up on the battery box. It needs to be the highest point. So lift it up and pour more AF in then undo the bleed valve and let any bubbles escape.

 

That did the trick. Hot air blowing out now.
