The glass is attached to the two rails, the rails each have a lug that rides in a channel on the sunroof frame. These bushings are what the lugs go into (hole in center) and are what ride in the channel between the channel and the lug. They break all the time, aren’t available to purchase alone, and if they are indeed broken, will let you glass wander or rattle.

My sunroofs have always rattled pretty nasty on bumps when opened. I wonder if that’s the cause. I’ve never really tried diagnosing the issue but would you be willing to have more made?

A broken one of these is indeed the cause.
