From everything I read on this site, I think all the moderators use it. I'll let you decide if it has any effect!

My main worry is what it might do to the catalytic converter. All that white smoke has to get by the converter first.

How can it destroy a MAF? No Seafoam touches the MAF. Only filtered air passes through the MAF.

I have used it as a top engine cleaner. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ocedure-33554/

IMHO I have yet to see any additive that does anything that works or worse still it usually screws up your truck. I have seen them all, it started in the 50's with Redex and later Bardahl, Wynnes, etc blah, blah, blah, hmmm, apart from separating the unwitting from their hard earned cash IMO they do nothing else. I HATE ADDITIVES THEY ARE A TOTAL CON.

Rant over

The only additive that can do a true cleaning of injectors and combustion chamber needs to have high content of PEA (polyestermine) which CHEVRON calls Techron and Gumout also uses it in their complete system cleaner and pays royalty to chevron. It's the strongest nitrogen detergent widely used. Cheaper stuff like gas treatments usually contain PIB (polyisobutene). Mid range products usually have PIBA (polyisobtene amine). The expensive stuff that have high contents of PEA actually work but U have to use the at least every 5000 miles to keep the system clean, don't expect to put them in the tank once everything is gunked-up see miracle, it actually makes a chemical bond with carbon molecules and removes them slowly from system. I have used gumout complete system cleaner in my daily driver 07corolla since it was new , now with 250k miles plus is as strong as day1 and i even haven't changed the Iridium spark plugs yet (even tough I should do it very soon, just being stubborn/stupid) and still getting the same 40mpg fwy like when it was new. The only other additive that I have only read about but I can't get my hands on is TK7 which is being used by US military and Israel military (made by Tael or Teal industries in Oklahoma) which supposedly cuts piston ring's and valve wear by an amazing %600 , no wonder they don't have them in autopart shelves, it will be disaster for car manufactures, supposedly when it burns in combustion chamber the by product is a synthetic lubricant , so piston rings ride on it on the way up eliminating wear and reducing temp. Of course we don't see any advertising for it because..... Engines need to wear out to sell part and or sell new ones. Has any one in Oklahoma City used it ? (You can google info about it, just type TK7 fuel additive).... (Teck Auther David Vizard tested it in 90's and wrote about it and made lots of enemies in high places)! So the good stuff Isn't in shelves but instead lots of Snake-oil available to get our money instead).
