Angry Three Amigos

I did the "option B" three amigos fix and it didn't work. I double checked my work, checked my ground, the lights are still on. Any ideas?

Did you clear them after the fix? They will not reset themselves

And did you confirm with a proper code reader that the shuttle valve was in fact the issue? Option b is “a” fix, not THE fix.

Yep SLABS = will permanently store codes unless you clear them with a proper scantool.

Option B is worth a shot if you have The Boys from South of the Border but don't have easy access to a tool to read the ABS codes since in many, many cases the shuttle valve switch circuit is the problem. Look at it this way; Option B is inexpensive, relatively easy and doesn't take much of an investment in time, and even if the SVS circuit wasn't the problem if you've done Option B correctly it will never be the problem. Kind of like preventive maintenance.

That being said, now that you've done Option B and it didn't work you will need to get the ABS codes read. There are several faults that trigger the Three Amigos and aside from Option B you're only guessing without the codes. The next most likely is a wheel speed sensor fault but without the codes you don't know which of the four.

Yep I don’t consider Option B a mod, but a repair to bypass the weak internal connection inside the WABCO unit. I do it on any D2 I get my hands on, then I sort out the sensors and bingo no more 3 Amigo’s that affect so many D2’s.
