Throttle Body bolt hole stripped
that will work fine
i did that but, decided to run a continuous line to reduce any points of failure
The only purpose of that cooling system circuit is to get coolant from the intake manifold to the TBH and then back to the reservoir. Check the cooling system diagram in the RAVE. Just pull the hoses from the TBH and plug them with short bolts held in place with small hose clamps. That's how my truck has been for years. THERE IS NO NEED TO CONNECT THE TWO HOSES OR TO CLOSE OFF THE TBH PORTS!!! Sorry for shouting, but this topic has been analyzed to death, typically with flawed analysis.
That said, if you decide you want to keep the TBH, then I think your idea of buying a used throttle body makes the most sense. And no, there is no calibration, and it is plug and play.

It makes zero difference with plugged hoses or routing the intake outlet to the reservoir, but I personally prefer to have the coolant nipple from the intake flow back to the reservoir. I’d rather have it free flowing vs just a line filling up with debris (I’ve pulled several blocked upper intake lines off customer LR’s & found them full of debris/gunk, something you won’t get if it’s flowing).
The bigger issue is with the poorly designed and honestly useless TBH that can cause your Bosch V8 to slowly bleed to death & sometimes by the time you notice it’s leaking or low on coolant = damage has already been done.

You're overthinking it.

I would only plug the TBH ports to keep dust and grime from sneaking into the throttle body. I can grab a salvaged TB for $30. If they're plug and play, I may just do that.

There is no way for dust and grime to get into the working parts of the throttle body via the TBH ports. That's akin to saying dust and grime could get into the passenger compartment via the heater core if you disconnect the heater lines under the bonnet. Exactly the same set of facts. Dust and dirt would get into the heater core, but not the passenger compartment.

yeah... I was scratching my head on that one.
My TBH is still connected to my intake even though I connected hoses #6 & #7 together to bypass it. The TBH coolant ports are wide open to the elements for 2 years now with zero issues.

I honestly remove the entire thing from all my LR’s. Looks kinda funky with this thing with two nipples just sitting there. I posted a pic a while back where I think all Bosch TBH Plates should be & it was a picture of the entire thing in my trash can lol.
I’ll never let any of my LR’s ever slowly bleed to death over that stupid thing. As long as you completely clean your TB from top to bottom and remove the TB plate every once in a while and use a scotchbrite pad on it the chance of it ever sticking is like your odd’s of living on Mars next week = not gonna happen.
