Default Throttle Body Coolant Leak Bypassed, what now?

Hello,

Got a 1994 D1 97K

So I had a throttle body leak using up a tank's worth of coolant every couple of days. I bypassed the hoses as DiscoMike had talked about in a previous post and everything has been well. No more coolant loss. In the mean time MPG was like 6-7mpg with the leak, down from 12mpg. Now mileage has gone back up to about 10mpg. I did a good seafoam, lots of smoke etc. I pulled a couple of plugs and they are caked in carbon deposit. The plugs are bosch platinums with about 8k miles on them. Should I replace the plugs now with only 8k miles on them? Try to clean them? The seafoam didn't seem to remove much of it but I guess burning a 1/2 gallon of coolant every 2 days didn't help either. THoughts?

If the plugs are fouled then you either need to clean them or replace them.

I have had nothing but problems with bosch spark plugs. Longevity and MPG issues mostly. I would change the plugs out.

The regular platinum plugs are junk. Go back to the stock Champions or get the Bosch +4 platinums

I am running Bosch Platinum +4s and love them. My mileage has increased with the +4s and Magnecor wires. After talking to Disco Mike over the weekend I finally got up the nerve to do the Seafoam induction cleaning. It smoked like a house on fire which I'm sure my neighbors loved but it didn't effect my plugs. Only change I have noticed so far is that my idle is super smooth. Sitting at a stop light you almost can't feel the engine running.
