Throttle body heater, p1171 and p1174
So got the new disco and have started taking care of some issues. Before I could get started I decided to try and clean her up. Went through an automated car wash and a block or so away I got some SES codes. P1171 and P1174. At first no mechanical issues could be noted but later that day I ended up with some coolant coming down to the ground on the drivers side. I popped the hood and noted coolant on top of the valve cover. So I am guessing the throttle body heater seal? Did not note much in the way of build up or anything. I ordered the throttle body kit from roverparts but I think I will do a bypass until it gets here.
Now the p1171 and p1174. Can this be related? I would guess so.
Also should I do the hoses leading to the throttle body heater? If so any idea what size those are?

Any good idea son how to find the vacuum leak? I did a visual inspection up to the throttle body and it all looked ok. Obviously that is not very scientific.
you can search on how to do a smoke test. that works for some.
look at the lines from brake booster, that's a good start.
I've had leaks there and an injector leak........both gave me those codes

Ok, will start in that area. Thanks.
Since your truck's a '99 like mine I'll assume it doesn't have SAI. In that case there should be a small, black plastic cap covering the port near where the brake booster line connects to the intake. The SAI connects to this port on trucks equipped with SAI. The original cap on my truck cracked eventually. Take a look at yours and make sure it's there and intact. See pic.
