Default Was tightening bolts........

Anyhow....I was under the hood tightening bolts (found out from here that they like to come un-snugged). I came to the bolts on the heads, which are not regular 6 point bolts. They look like reverse torx bolts.....or 12 point 8mm bolts. Anyhow I am wondering what socket I should use to tighten these.....as they are looser than I would like.

The bolts you are referring to are 12 pt 8mm bolts on the valve covers. Notorious for loosening and causing oils leaks. Torque them to 12 FtLbs and retorque them regularly, like every 3-4 months.

I use a 1/4" drive rachet and just snug them.

you will find that a nice set of 12 points will come in handy for brakes and other things too.
