I didn't, just torque to spec.

For whatever reason, the cam sprocket didn’t slide in easily. I had to tap it with a rubber mallet. I rolled the engine a few times with a wrench and the marks on the sprockets lined up every second turn, so I used loctite on the cam bolt and figured the bolt would put the cam sprocket right where it would be. It took some wiggling to remove it as well, so maybe mine was just stubborn. The crank sprocket went on easily.

I’ll try my best to oil the chain without getting oil all over the gasket surface. Thanks again

Planning to get the sleeve on the harmonic damper tomorrow and install the timing cover.
