Timing Chain and Chain Wheel Install
#11
Thanks, I think the crank and cam are in the right place. I set TDC by hand before removing the old chain and I didn’t move the crank or cam at all since then, so they weren’t moved without the chain. I had the marks aligned as close as humanly possible. Hopefully they line up again with the new parts. I have some more cleaning to do, but I want to put the chain on right afterward. Is there any need to use loctite on the cam bolt? I have the blue type.

For whatever reason, the cam sprocket didn’t slide in easily. I had to tap it with a rubber mallet. I rolled the engine a few times with a wrench and the marks on the sprockets lined up every second turn, so I used loctite on the cam bolt and figured the bolt would put the cam sprocket right where it would be. It took some wiggling to remove it as well, so maybe mine was just stubborn. The crank sprocket went on easily.
I’ll try my best to oil the chain without getting oil all over the gasket surface. Thanks again
Planning to get the sleeve on the harmonic damper tomorrow and install the timing cover.
