Default Tingling Vibration on the Gas Pedal

I searched through the forum and have not found any posts related to this...

I am getting a small tingling vibrations on the accelerator pedal when driving on the road. I am going to check the engine, transfer case and transmission mounts this evening.

For your reference, here is what I have done so far over the past couple of months since I bought the Disco:

* changed to BP Utah front drive shaft
* replaced Rotoflex rubber coupling with new part
* new engine, transmission, transfer case and diff oil
* new front rotors and brake pads
* front front and rear shock absorbers
* wheels all recently balanced

I checked the above parts and everything seems to be bolted tight. The Disco is actually running pretty smoothly otherwise (i.e., there is no chassis shake).

Just wondering if there is anything else which I should check with regard to the tingling vibration on the gas pedal. Any guidance will be much appreciated!

Did this vibration occur before or after all that work?

It was there when I purchased the Disco a couple of months ago.

I did the above lisat of maintenance work thinking the tingling vibration on the gas pedal was going to go away.

Changing to a new front drive propshaft, however, did solve the "throbbing" driveline problem. But the minute tingling vibration still remains.

It does not appear to be a engine or transfer case mounting problem.... as the whole chassis would shake. It feels like some nut or bolt in the linkage mechanism is loose. I am going to run through gas pedal linkage through the firewall to see if I can locate the cause of the problem.

Any other thoughts would be much appreciated.

OK this will solve it.
Your throttle cable is too tight.
There is motion from the engine going directly thru the cable to your foot.

Let a little slack happen in the cable by using a 10mm wrench and releasing the lock nuts and walk the cable back until there is a little slack.

Let us know how that works out.

Actually, my answer is wrong.
When your foot is on the pedal the cable is taut anyway..
So, it should have some slack - but --
when you have your foot on the gas - there is NO slack.

Perhaps it is the mpg sensor feedback indicating you have dropped below 7 miles per gallon....

Jfall,

My man... you may be right! The car went through a heater throttle body change at the time when I bought the Disco. I will check it tonight when I get home.

An update....

I loosened the locking and adjuster nuts this morning. It reduced the vibration. This means I now loose the foot reflexology massage feature on the Disco. But count my blesssings, I still have heated seats

Thanks to everyone for the help!
