Thanks for pointing that out! Do you recall the model number?

I’ve had great success getting more details about past-owner repairs by calling the mechanic’s shop who did the work, which is usually listed on the Carfax. One of them in particular was super helpful and sent over actual invoices. Worth a shot to dig a little deeper.

If you’re looking for D1 arms, I actually went the opposite direction and reinstalled D2 arms on my 2004 when I got it. So I have a set of perfect D1 arms and blades in the classified section if you’re interested.

Found a lightly used one for sale. So far based on this thread and folks reaching out I have sourced D1 wipers, lock actuators all around and new AC condenser fan!

Put the 180 T-stat is. The new A/C condenser fan arrives today. I am hoping the combo will bring my temps down, but if not, I am going to move straight on to the inline t-stat mod.

Other things slated for the next week or so: door lock actuators and wipers, also PCV mod (after reading and understanding better).

I have already gone the whole leatherquie route on the seats. Next for me later in August will be headliner and potentially finding an alpaca grey steering wheel in better shape than my own.

Do you have an S model? They were the only ones with leatherette seats... And the Alpaca color was a beige, not a grey though there is a grey interior I believe... My S model has Alpaca beige interior and a black dash/steering wheel. You may be better off finding a black steering wheel as they show less age/dirt.

Most importantly get a ultraguage if you don’t already have one. Set the coolant temp alarm to 215-220 and never let it overheat

Thanks redwhitekat, I have an ultragauge and just finished the install of the new AC condenser about 5 minutes ago. This week on top of the 180 stat, I did a full cooling system flush and switched over to green coolant. I suspect the next thing on my list for the cooling system is the viscous fan. Looks like the 04s have a single unit that is a bit expensive to replace. does anyone have experience pulling those and then installing a hayden clutch with and earlier D2 fan? That seems like the more economical way to go, but maybe not.

And Dave, I mispoke, I have alpaca beige interior and an SE. When I said "leatherique: I meant the restoration kit Home Page | Leatherique Restoration Products

the top half of my steering wheel is pretty worn out, and as the main touch point I think I would just like to get a new one, or try my hand at rewrapping it.

lots of folks on here have that Hayden combo. I personally still have my oem fan unit on my 2003

but if you want another piece of mind maintenance replace your tensioner and the 2 pullies. And belt
I did mine last year and one of the idler pullies was almost seized.

Atlantic British has a good kit with the 2 pullies
I had a hard time getting one of the pullies under the alternator. Most auto parts stores had no idea what I was talking about.
Wish I got the Atlantic British kit right off the bat

Yup works great on my 04 Hayden clutch and Dorman fan combo.
