Default Tire size w/ 2” lift

Hi, weighing in a bit late, but have some pictures to share - before and after. First is completely stock (2003 HSE) with 255/55-18s. Then one or two shots with original tires, RTE Fab HD springs, medium duty OME shocks, new poly bushings all around and HD shock towers. Finally, a couple with 275/65-18 Firestone Destination A/T-2 tires fitted. Have experienced no rubbing issues;

Original tires and suspension

tires are relatively quiet on highway.

Nice comparison pictures. Looks really good. How hard are getting all the bushings replaced?

Btw wish I could have bought my truck from Extinct! I’m sure it was well sorted so you could focus on upgrades.

I’d be lying if I said I replaced them all myself. Local shop did some of the work along with springs. If I had an actual lift in my garage, I’d be more willing to tackle that, and more.

Yes, I’ve been very happy with the truck. When he’s done refurbing my old one (green 2001) it’ll be a nice buy for someone.

He’s local to me and a great, generous resource.

I like the size, a good balance look wise to me for the truck and the Generals are surprisingly quiet. I did remove my side steps with the integrated front mud flaps. The 275 tires would have rubbed a lot with that in place. I’ll try to take some pics.
@04disco2va can we get some pics straight on from the front and some of the side straight on (I.e. perpendicular to the disco)? This thing is beautiful, might try to emulate this look.

Hi sja. Appreciate it. Unfortunately Disco is at the mechanics getting some work done. As soon as I get it back I’ll take some more pics. Probably week and a half.

@04disco2va Sounds great. How is braking and acceleration with that size tire? Have you noticed any change?
