Once you do it, you can keep a record of the Front/Rear PSI & then quickly air them up in the future.

Learned that back in my Jeep days as everyones idea of proper PSI was never correct due to equipment/tires. Chalk test will without a doubt get you to the proper PSI.

what is a chalk test?
mine are 255/55r18 and the door tag says 28 for front and 46 for rear.... should I put in less for rear? it does drive a little stiff

You toss some chalk in front of each tire & then drive over it. If the tire tread isn't fully covered in chalk air down and then drive back over the chalk until all the tread is covered by the chalk = tires are properly aired up. Then keep the #'s you got for the front/rear and with those exact tires you should now have the proper PSI for your setup.

i will make chalk from one of the chalk sticks i have in the shop for when my grandkid decides to share her art skills on the driveway

as it is now, i am pretty sure that air will need to come out - i saw the rear tires this morning and it looked like they barely hit the pavement LOL

i see a consensus here that all four should have the same pressure .....

thank you all for the input!!!
