Default Bigger tires for 03 Freelander

I was wondering if anybody has put bigger tires on their freelander. Also do you have any pics?

Thank you.

Do you still want to know about larger wheels / tires for the Freelander? I have a 2004 SE-3 and I'm running 20x8.5" wheels with P255/35/ZR20 Goodyears. Drop me a line if you want to know more.

I also want bigger tires on my 03 Freelander. I'd like to put a lift kit on it as well, but can't find a good one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've talked to one mechanic who said that it can't be done (no bigger tires and no lift kit).

Hey Sgt_L.

The larger wheels and tiresI installed were for street use with the stock suspension, so I really don't have any experience with lifting a Freelander; but I'm sure it can be done. The UK enthusiasts have more experience with this model, since they've had it over there for more seasons than we have here in NA. A lot of the mods (exhaust, intake, etc.) that I've seen were from UK sources. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Blitz and Sarg,

most 225/70/16 will fit without a lift
up to 225/75/16 if you fit a lift (there will be a noticable loss of torque)
fewer choices for 17 in rims, try 235/65/17
you're on your own if you have 19in wheels
Ironman makes replacement springs that will give you 1 1/2 inches, http://www.ironmansuspension.com/ site was unavailable today.
DAP offers a 2 inch spacer kit http://www.dap-inc.com/index.shtml didn't find the lift on the site, give them a call.

do a search on either item and you will find information about other owner's installs.
