Exclamation tire question. 2000 discovery

First of all let me start by saying that i know that this has been answered before because ive read it on here but everyone posted tons of different answers to a quetsion that there is really only one right answer to so i need to get this straight.
I have a 2000 discovery completely stock with 16 inch rims
what are the biggest tires that I can have on here without any customization, no lift kit no cutting of fenders.
thank you

Just go with some 255/70-16;s and be happy with it. About 30" tall.

all your available options:

Clifton Scientific Text Services, the Netherlands

As Big Jim said 255/70-16 seems like the best alternative

I'm running 245/75/16 with no trouble. I've read several posts that indicate that it's the largest tire practical, without a lift or fender surgery. The spare fits rather closely but it fits, though I've inverted the carrier just for peace of mind.

I run 255/70R16 Cooper AT3's and really like them for a tire that is quiet, but aggressive enough to going wheeling and not have issues.

LT245/75/R16, the tire size that LR should have put on the Disco II in the first place!
