I've been reading great things about the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour, and am thinking about them for my next set of tires. (90-95% on road driving/ 5-10%light off road but need good snow traction I travel a 10% grade daily that turns very nasty in the winter).

My current tire size is 255/55R18 (Michelin HTs - great for highway nothing else). I noticed the closest fit for these was 265/60R18, would these fit a stock '03 Disco? Or does anybody have any tires they'd recommend (I'm sticking with the 18-inch hurricanes, because this truck won't see any real dirty playtime for a couple of years). I had the BFG Radial Al Terrain TA/KO's on my Jeep and loved them but they killed my mileage. Trying to find the best of both worlds.

So far I concur with those other Land Rover drivers as far as the value, roadholding, braking, wet traction,steering and quietness. Cannot comment on wear rate, snow or ice traction yet.

i have theTOYO opencountry A/T they are great and quite i live in utah and really great when we going skiing and great traction i should get about 45000-50000 miles out of them really great tires

 

At's by any tire company will not kill your gas mileage, going up a couple sizes may.

 

I too was running the Toyo Open Country AT (255/55R18). It was a great tire. Quiet, wore great, tough. They did well off road in places where other tires got cut up.

Now I just upgraded to 16" wheels, Went with the Toyos again. This time I went a bit oversize to LT245/75R16. This is a really rugged looking tire!

 

I've got the Toyo's as well, but I've got some wheel rub on the inside fender - what's the best solution for this?

thanks.. not that that hasn't crossed my mind, but since I've just purchased all new tires.. I don't think that'll work - anyone else?
