Default Tire rotation

I have a 2000 Discovery II that I am going to have 2 new tires put on in the AM. It has pretty new tires on the front, but bald ones on the back. Where should have the new tires placed, front or rear?

On the font since that is where you steer and need the most traction.

crap, I thought I posted to this earlier, guess it didn't take.

You want all 4 to be the same size. If it was me, I would replace all 4 at the same time. Having different sizes on front and back is like having them on the left and right of a normal car. That said, put them on front, they will wear a little faster turning and even out with the rears. Also, try to keep the tread pattern close.
