Look what I found for you..

f you have the radio with navigation, open glove box, on the left side (closer to driver) there will be a bar code sticker. If the bar code sticker has the number 123456789 the nav/radio code is the last 5 digits, 56789. I have a 2002 SE but it should be the same process. __________________

 

I believe there is only 3 shots at entering the code after that I also believe you have a time delay before retrying the code which from memory is 10 minutes. If you have the radio.sat handbook the code is normally on a card in there, that is assuming it is the original radio and hasn't been replaced. I disconnected the battery recently and had a problem finding the code as I bought a new radio/sat nav online and misplaced the code. Luckily the new code was still in the original box in the garage. Tip: once you find the code write it down in the handbook, also with the registration papers and in the workshop manual as it'll save time looking later.

 

This actually works!! Had an occasion to swap a battery out and was prompted for code. Found the bar code sticker in the glove box and tried the last 5 digits as a last ditch attempt and ... voila, success!!!

Yes, the bar code sticker is gone........been there, done that, and unfortunately did not get a tee for that trip. So disappointing, hoping it was there. Went through all my books/manuals praying they stuck the thing in the books......no luck. Yes system with nav.

Wow.. 2+ months without music? I feel your pain.. I can't imagine not being able to belt out Lady Gaga's newest single 'Do what you want' or Christina Perri's 'I'm only human' while I drive to and from work. I live for the radio - every. single. day. Good thing no one else is listening to me while I sing - that would be embarrassing! Went out and checked my glove box for you - my code is 35610. Hope it helps. I've got to do some maintenance on my truck this weekend so if you need any other info please don't hesitate to PM me. If all else fails you could get a big boombox and rig it up so you could listen to your favorites in the car. I'm assuming nothing works so you can't hook up your ipod and listen to that either, right? I keep all my favorites on mine but some of them are hard to sing along to.. the Flaming Lips 'are you a hypnotist?' is just a 'hummer'.

What if you phoned LR North America? Not the dealer. I mean the really big cheese....the head, head honcho? Tell them your VIN and see what they can do. They may refer you to the local dealer, but you can reply stating that they were of no use. They offered you a "code" but didn't work. I think if you phoned LR N.A., they could help.

 

From reading other posts about this same topic the LR dealer should be able to help. One guy even sent an email through landrover.com and got a same day response. Then faxed (this was like 6 years ago so can probably email now) a copy of his ins card showing the vin and license and they sent him a new code.
