Default Tires for 2" Lift - Anybody Running Milestar Patagonias?

I added the terrafirma 2" lift, springs and shocks. Looking to switch to 16" wheels and perhaps go with Milestar Patagonias - 275/65/16. Anybody running them?

I personally wouldn't use Chinese tires for safety and other reasons. You bought a luxury SUV on the cheap, do yourself a favor and pay a few extra bucks for some good tires.

I hear ya - but contrary to popular belief, not everything that comes out of China is crap and not everything that comes out of the US is high quality. I have been in US based manufacturing for the past 25 years and I have seen plenty of crappy products made in the good ole USA.

That said, if you have some actual recommendations with some sort of data or reviews to back it up, I’d love to see it. I have done a bunch of research on the Milestars (as well as others) and folks generally seem pleased with them.

The only negative I've seen is that they cost half the price of Goodyear and last half as long. If you drive 2k miles a year on them then the lifespan of them isn't a concern.

Can you tell me where you found that information about the wear rate? Everything I have read suggests they wear pretty well.

I think those milestars are a fairly soft compound, so they will wear pretty quickly. That's generally true with cheaper MT tires. Are you gonna be wheeling your rig hard? If not, you could get a pretty aggressive AT for not much more money, have WAY better tread life, far better street mannners, and still retain most of the off road capability. I've run two sets of Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws that I can't praise highly enough.

I wouldn’t fool with them. Get you some good tires BFG km2 or even BFg mud Terrains. I’m running Cooper Discoverer AT3 and they’re pretty good not as good as a mud terrain but they’re all right.

Thanks all for the feedback. The Milestar is actually a US based subsidiary of Tireco that is been in business in the US since 1972. I have a set of Grabber At2’s on the rig now and was thinking I can alternative between them based on usage. Agree on the Falkens - they look pretty tough.

Good review of the milestars here:
