No play or slop rotating them, but there is a very very slight amount when pushing/pulling up and down...

FWIW both sides are identical in this behavior.

 

they do have a small amount of play in that direction, best would be to go to a parts shop and check a new one it will have a bit as the shaft is held in place on the CV by a spring clip, part No 4 on the drawing below
