Lightbulb Too rich at bank 1 and 2

I am getting the following errors:
P0171 System too rich (bank 1) Multiplication injector adaptive fuelling - rich limit exceeded LH bank
P0174 System too rich (bank 2) Multiplication injector adaptive fuelling - rich limit exceeded RH bank

Tried replacing the wires (Magnecor) and plugs. Tried cleaning the MAF sensor (with alcohol as suggested elsewhere in the forum). Need suggestions. I cant drive more than a maile without the service engine light going on, although I am not noticing any driving problems.

Never clean the MAF on a DII.
Sounds like you need new O2 sensors.

You can throw that MAF away, they can't be cleaned and you won't get rid of those codes till that is replaced.

Default Which one??

MAF Sensor or O2 sensor?? Which is more likely to be the culprit for too rich? There was an article on cleaning the MAF sensor in the forum. Just used alcohol to try and get the dust off, so I doubt it was made worse.

Its funny, we have Audi and Vw mafuacturer training classes at the campus i go to, and they forbid cleaning a MAF that are made by bosche. Ive owned piles of VW's, a few Bimmers and this Disco and Saab. As a maintenance thing i have always cleaned the MAF and have never had an issue. Hot wire MAF's are supposed to clean themselves but, i have found after they are cleaned the cars run better. Why cant we clean the MAF'S in our DII's?

Because they are made by BOSCH.
You will kill the DII MAF if you try and clean it or use a K&N air filter.

The 02's are not causing this problem, replace the MAF.

Look, I do appreciate all the input from various members from this site. I have learned alot about these machines. Thank Ya'll. However, I dont get when there are replies stating to specifically not do things, other than the front shaft and keeping up with services, which I strongly endorse, but I run a K&N and clean the MAF for 60k now and see nothing but good results from keeping up on both of them.

Odds are one day it will turn around and bite you.
Have you ever considered the effect of running the least effective air filter on the market has on your engine, much less what it will cost you down the road?

I backing Mike up on this one, K&N air filters use oil to trap dirt not filter media.
If that oil is gone or to loaded with dirt already it wont filter a thing.
Everytime you oil it the oil gets sucked into your engine and right onto the MAF as it passes by.
