No set price yet, but somewhere in the thread it talks about a $4k ish price.
There will be a bell housing adapter, motor mounts, wiring harnesses, brackets, lots of R&D, parts and brackets for LR and/or LS accessories, ect.
Lots of money.
I really like D2's, but everything that could possibly go wrong with this one has.
I'm ready to get rid of it. A block plus $420 windshield has me at over $3500 just to get it driveable again, aside from any other unexpected suprises.
Given what I've already put into it, I really don't want to spend that much in it at this point.
Oh well, is what it is.

Keep in mind you are driving what was once a $40k rig in 15 to 20 years ago money. Just because we basically can steal them cheap now doesn't mean that repairs will be congruent with a $5k vehicle. These trucks are like beauty queens, just because they are 15 years past their prime doesn't mean they will suddenly be a cheap date.

I understand all of that.
I was and am fully aware of what I was getting into.
However, when the engine ran before the rebuild, it had zero signs of coolant leaks, overheating, and there was no coolant in the cylinders.
So, I decided to go ahead with the rebuild.
After the rebuild, I get coolant in 3 cylinders...the liners decide to wait until then to leak, just my luck.
I plan on and don't mind spending money on a project when I get one, but after a while, some things just become total money pits, and I am really losing interest in this one as a result.
I am stuck as to if I want to move forward and spend more on it or not.
I don't even know how much I would sell it for(a huge loss obviously), but the right offer on the right day...and it's gone.
As much as I like it, I'm ready to move on.

Sorry to hear about the issues Sixpack.

That is correct. We're trying to keep the base kit price around $1,500-$1,700. I'll have a better idea when we get some feedback.

The $4-4.5k figure includes the used LS (for $700). Welding the exhaust shouldn't run more than a few hundred dollars. You could definitely save if you scored an LS for a lower price or went with some used exhaust manifolds instead of the new ones I used. If any of you would like a more detailed price breakdown, PM me.

If your looking to sell, I can see why you would pursue the top hat option. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks!
That’s the problem I ran into. In the end, I just bought a set of .20 over pistons and had my guy hone out the 8 cylinder vs boring them. My block didn’t have an issue with water leaks though.

after about 800 miles its still runs well and I’ve no over temps..

Thank you for the info sir, I will definately keep it in mind as an option, as I would prefer it.
I would go with the top-hatted block as I already have new reman heads, and countless other new engine parts.
It will cost about half, and should be dependable.
Either way, if I fix it, I will keep it, unless there is a good cash or trade offer.
Otherwise, I would rather cut my losses and sell or trade it as is. At this rate, I'll put another $10k in it, and the windshield washer bottle will explode and burn it to the ground...and my insurance charge me to tow it away, lol.
