I have the factory hitch installed and am looking to get a travel trailer for long term work trips vs staying in a motel. I was wondering how much weight I can pull and how easy it would be to wire up trailer brakes or if the rover can brake without the assist.

 

Depends upon DII loading and suspension. Look in the owners manual (avail in the RAVE).

Trailer w/o brakes 1650lbs 115lb tongue
trailer w/ brakes 4410lbs 330lb (710lb in DII/ 900 for SLS)
trailer w/ brakes 5500lbs 385lb (450lb in DII/ 600 for SLS)

 

What sort of tongue weight and trailer weight are you look at?
You will want to replace the rear coils and all 4 shocks to a more H.D set before towing.

 

I'm running OME 2" HD lift right now so I don't think it'll bottom out but I might up the springs a bit To compensate for the weight.

Looks like I'll be installing trailer brakes though
