Default Toying with the Unthinkable...

Well guys... after a long debate with myself, I am toying with the idea of getting rid of the D2... While I have loved my time with her, here is the deal:

My father in law just got a new car and wants to sell me his 2003 MB ML500 for a great deal. It has 60k on it and is pristine.

My 01 D2 has been a work in progress since the beginning, which I have very much enjoyed the journey. But we are at 104k, and I still am still leaking coolant somewhere, and have p0300 and 0304 codes that just popped back up after I went in REAL deep to fix them.

It seems like a lot of you guys have replaced your engines by this mileage, or will be replacing them soon.

I will be trying to sell it locally unless anyone one here is interested. I would rather sell it quicker rather than for the price I am asking. I am located in Bend, OR.

Thoughts or recommendations? Thanks guys! (BTW, this decision is not final yet, so this isn't full goodbye)

Yep.. get rid of it. Sound like a waste of time and energy. Then we won't have to read about fat rolls anymore.....NICE.

Sold my D2 a week ago.
Do I miss it?
Yeah.
It was a dependable partner for a year.

I look at this this way.
Sell your D2.

Get the MB500.

Let a year go by.
If you miss your D2, keep your eyes out for another.

Or - get an LR3.
LR3 prices will FALL a lot in the next year.

I may get an LR3 in a year or so.

The guy who bought my D2 LOVES it.
Let the adventure for him begin.

With that said, I would dig into fixing a D2 again.
Because I know how to do it from the help of this great group on here.

Give and receive.
