Well most cooling components run when it’s idling or running. So everything shuts off when key is out.
Does your ultraguage stay on when you turn off ignition ??

Could have a bad battery just nearly holding charge. Of course your going to see 13.7 14 volts when alternator is pumping out voltage.

no, everything shuts off and only if a/c has been turned on does it draw on battery considerably and drain battery ... if I dot use climate control unit it runs fine no issues at all.. except south Florida summer issue lol

i had an optima for a few ( 3 ish) years and one day it didnt start... i have an optima charger so took it out and placed a brand new battery about a year ago and was working fine for about 8 months and then one day it just started draining and I died on side of road... ( i was sure alternator was a cuprit as no matter a/c or not it would not charge battery.... replaced the battery with my original optima which the optima charger said was in good condition and had been on trickle charge all that time... car ran great until i turned on a/c then died... i recharged the other "newer" battery and charger said it was also fine and replaced that... car ran great no issues.. til i tried a/c and car started draining and wouldnt start soon after i turned it off at my short destination... , so jumped it, came home without a/c no problems and took it out and replaced with original optima which has been in there for a month with no issues... but I fear not to turn on a/c as it will tank battery again... also i did test this optima with a/c one last time and it tanked it.. took it off brought it inside and recharged and took it back out and thats when I didnt use a/c and all is fine... so its related to A/c seemingly and when looking at ultragauge it alwasy shows 13.8-14.2 charging range and battery is fine ... hope that made sense lol

definitely a weird issue
I would start by taking a multimeter and checking across fuses relays etc anything related to the climate control ac system etc see what amps are going across draining it.
You probably need a good meter that reads milliamps. You should be able to pin it down pretty quick

yeh thats next step.. I have a FLUKE that reads em... looks like its time to spend some time with it lol. I was hoping it was a common issue and not a complicated trackdown... lol

waiting on my replacement DMM-11A Bussman fuse for my FLUKE multimeter lol then im going to do some serious wire tracking.. i did notice my blower a/c/heater wires were very hot when i turned on a/c.. i was reading about 12.3v but at battery was 14 ish so alternator was bring back the voltage to battery... however maybe too many amps hitting a failing blower motor? wil be checking maybe tomorrow.. i do see a drop spike in volts on ultragauge when i turn the different fan levels on manually from climate control.. i did order a replacement motor just in case thats the culprit... also did a load test on my red top optima battery i took out for a full charge... it sits at around 12.7v on the optima charger and occasionally shoots to 13.. not sure if that is ok.. but the load test simulating an engine start dropped my voltage with meter under 12v, so maybe its a complex issue of things... maybe when alternator went south it killed my just new battery ( which is now back in disco and is fine as long as ac isnt used... and my old optima (4-5 years old) is on the maintainer for a backup... it works as long as a/c isnt used... that with a bad blower motor... hmmm

Yup sounds like something going on with your hvac motor wiring etc. Wires shouldn’t be hot. Check wiring maybe it’s grounding itself. Bare or burned wires somewhere and like you said bad motor. Unplug motor and see if issue goes away
