Hey Mike! Thanks for the quick reply. I just took a looksie at at an '04 Disco and on the 4WD shifter it says "Diff-Lock". Is the '04 equipped with a diff that is lockable from the passenger cabin?

-Justin (borja.jp@gmail.com)

Here are 2 pictures taken at the first snow, here in Colorado 2 months ago. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you some pictures. This 03 with front chains did well on a run with us on a bed of ice and 6 to 12"s of fresh powder. The 03's have an upgraded ETC over earlier D2's and you'll be just fine with some good tires. Have any idea what tire size and style you will be using?

Do you by chance know what chains he or she was using? Ineed to have chains sinceI have the stock HSE 18" wheels and I chose to stay withthe same goodyear tires that came with the vehicle. They'renot the best for off-road and snow performance but for now until I get a new daily driver these will have to stay.

If you plan on going offroad, there are people that will trade their 16's for 18's. or you can go to ebay and get some for winter.....

That refers to a center diff lock, the t/case. Rover has never put lockers in any of the Discos, that is your job.

If you are going off road at some point, I wouldn't waist money on chaining up your GoodYears, you need to go to 16" wheels so you have stronger and taller sidewalls.
As for the chains, if you are in an area where you get lots of snow, go buy them from, http://www.bb4wa.com/ , He sells the best chains ou the market.
