Default Tranny Additive Suggestion

Hello all,

After doing several searches on tranny additive, no one mentions what they are using.

Amsoil makes one, but says it is for leaks and slippage.
My tranny doesnt leak or slip. Will it hurt my tranny?

Any suggestions? Taking it in for a drain a filter change tomorrow.

Regards,

Nick

BTW 2000 DII w/about 75k on tranny.

I just did a tranny service and used the lucas tranny additive by way of mike's suggestion. I didnt have any leaks or slippage but i figured it couldnt hurt.......just helps things run better. I dont think it is neccessary but if your going to do the service its probably worth your while to add a half of bottle in. Hope that helps

Thanks!
I agree, for the small amount of money the additive cost, seems like good/cheap insurance.

Just trying to see what people are using and hopefully no side effects.

I use Lucas Tranny additive and am pleased with it. The other way to go is to run good fluid and do a fluid change every 15 to 20,000 miles. I think in the long run this will give better over all results.

I've used Lucas in many of my cars and when it comes time to put it in the Rover, you bet I will.

It's good stuff.

Looks like I will go with a Lucas product, along with regular oil chages in the tranny.

Thanks again!
