trans temp light question
Hi Guys,
So nice day to go out for drive...
I was out driving for about 30 min on some back roads then went through a mcdonalds drive through. Light came on... turned truck off for a minute, turned it back on and the light was still on. After about a minute it turned off... As I drove away it came back on then drove about a mile and it was off again. I drove all the way home 4 miles for it not to come back on again.
Let the truck cool down for about 4 hours and check the fluids for trans and transfer case, levels were good. I used my Lynx diag system and checked for trans and engine codes and nothing came up.
Does this sound like a bad temp sensor or something else wrong? If I shoot the IR gun at the trans pan what temp should it be after going around town for a bit?

Usually when the sensor goes bad the light stays on, like mine does. When was the last time the fluid in tcase and transmission were changed? can the lynx monitor trans temps from the sensor?
I replaced the fluids and filter about 12,000miles ago. No the Lynx can't get into trans temp. As an update I went out for another drive last night for 30min and light didn't come back on.
