Default transfer case gear selection.

since i dont have a manual can someone kindly explain to me the settings,,

its in the lower right corner for normal driving. then if you notch it to the left a light pops up with a x in the middle of the driveline. so i dont know if that is supposed to be locked or no. then if you notch up from there you get a light with 2 gears and a line slash in it. what does that mean?

help me out, im planning on getting the rig into the rough stuff for the first time since i bought it and i want to make sure i have the diff and tcase settings right in my head.

Have you looked under your drivers seat for the owners manual?

On a DI while sitting in the drivers seat, back and to the right is hi unlocked, that is normal driving.
Forward to the right is lo unlocked.
Back and to the left is hi locked.
Forward to the left is low locked.

There should be a sticker on the console infront of the t-case shifter.

Ok, sorry, I miss understood you.

The "X" means that the t-case is locked.
As for the two gears with a line through them, I do not know.

Found it, the two gears with the line through them means that the t-case is in neutral. So the gears are not engaged and even though the transmission is in park the truck could still roll away.

The circle with the red X is the diff lock light. The gears with the lines through it is the t-case neutral warning lamp. There should also be an audible warning if the t-case isn't fully engaged. I agree with Spike, read the owner's manual a few times and get a copy of the RAVE manual too.

Does D1 have the neutral indicator light? I don't remember seeing it when I was playing around, checking out the transfer case one day. I know I have the diff lock light but don't remember seeing a neutral. Could be a bad bulb but I wouldn't think that one would be out and none of the rest of my indicators are.

AK-No DI's do not have the nuetral light for the t-case, our trucks are simple remember? You will know you left the tcase in neutral when you come out of work and your truck has rolled down the hill.

There is a buzzer, t-case in neutral and trans in gear or park, buzzzzzzzzz.
