Default Transfer case replaceable parts

Hey all,
Got a lowish mileage used transfer case in the mail yesterday. Replacing mine due to failure... Just wanted to know if there is some preventative maintenance that I can do before it gets installed since it's just sitting there waiting to go in. Thanks!

During shipping any metal chunks may have migrated to who knows where. Flush with solvent of choice and rotate by hand? While watching thru inspection plate opening? Reseal inspection plate (famous for leaking)? We already suspect that high quality lube will be installed. Any O ring on the neutral safety switch to swap out? And any other O ring or easy to change small gasket. Lube shifter like you never plan to be back in there. If CDL or CDL conversion lube other parts. If no CDL respect the fact that you won't be able to do everything off road that some Rovers can. And clean out the vent line and banjo bolt for the breather pipe that allows fumes to escape.

Sounds good, just wanted to make sure.
Consider replacing the front seal on the t/case and the tail shaft seal on the tranny.
Make sure to use a good 75 or 85/140 gear oil for better wear protection.

By the way, have you already rebuilt your front drive shaft, if not, this is a good time along with replacing the rear u-joint.

Dually noted fellas, thanks once again for your expertise. I will certainly take your advice. Rear shaft has already been built. Will follow up with results or any issues I experience.
