Gear selector will not go out of Park. If Yugo made a SUV I would buy it before I ever bought another Land Rover. Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks! 😲 😲 😲

Could be a bad brake light switch. See if your brake lights come on when you press the brake pedal. Sometimes they just come out of adjustment.

Either a brake bulb is burned out or the brake switch under the pedal is faulty. Obviously check brake lights and replace bulb if necessary, otherwise move onto the switch which can be ordered from your local auto parts store as it is one of those used across various makes and models. No big deal bub! I've already crossed both of those roads within a few months of each other.

Ps: if it's the bulb, it is pretty much stuck unless you pull the shifter console and manually disengage the shifter solenoid, but if it's the switch it will usually disengage if the brake is stepped on and off-of repeatedly. Just try to move the shifter while you are doing it and after the 20th time it will let go. Def not a fault with the trans, though.
