Transmission Cooler Lines - where to buy?
Hi Gang,
My transmission oil cooler lines are shot. But I'm having a hell of a time finding where to buy them. Most of my usual places (lrdirect, John Craddok, Rimmer Bros) all seem to not carry them any more.
Asked a mechanic to see if he could manufacture them, but he didn't think it possible.
Anyone have a line on these things? Or have some clever way of getting around the lack of parts?
I'm starting to think they're going to be the death of the truck at this point (that and the half dozen other things that need help).

Try googling hydraulic shop Toronto. If the "quick release" fittings (which at this point are anything but) are shot you may need to bring in the cooler itself for them to work up a retrofit. I see this as a win in the long run however. Those crappy fittings are diabolical and only ever benefited the dealer when under warranty. By now most are rusted to the point of being a huge PITA to deal with, wasting valuable time for anyone having to disconnect them. Some here have come up with a workaround using high pressure hose and clamp, you can try searching that out as well. Those fittings annoy the hell out of me.

There is a fix for the disconnect ends that works extremely well. I've replaced both trans and oil cooler connectors one my white d2 a few years ago and have had zero issues.
will need to sand down the cooler fittings slightly for the swagelok fittings to slide on but it's quick and easy as the coolers are aluminum.
